Donna Louise Dell was born on March 5, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph and Ruth Selander Dell. Donna graduated from Granite High School, the LDS Hospital School of Nursing, and the University of Utah. Donna was commissioned in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in November 1948, and was called to active duty in January, 1950. She was stationed in Baumholder, Augsburg, and Berlin, Germany. She was employed as a nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City until her retirement in 1988.
Donna led a busy, full life for 91 years, and especially enjoyed traveling, gardening, line dancing, golf, and numerous volunteer activities. She was generous with her time and means, and always seeking to assist those in need of her services. She made friends wherever she went, and leaves a legacy of unselfish service.
A private graveside service will be held under the direction of Larkin Mortuary on Friday, June 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
