Frances Clara Schaar Anderson

1937 ~ 2017

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Frances Clara Schaar Anderson, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Wednesday, November 16, 2017.

Born on December 5, 1937 in SLC, UT to Richard R. and Ada Long Schaar. Graduated from West High School, Class of 1956. Frances then attended the University of Utah, joined Lamba Delta Sigma, an LDS sorority and married her college sweetheart, Frederick L. Anderson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 9, 1959.

Frances dearly loved her four children Kara, Mark, Julie and Michael, 3 foster sons from Vietnam, Ken, John and Ben Chung and cherished her 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

She was an active member of the LDS faith, enjoyed her many different church callings and in 2007, served an LDS mission with her husband as a Medical Advisor in N. Asia, Japan. As a true humanitarian and a tirelessly compassionate woman, she was instrumental in re-uniting the Chung family from Vietnam with their sons in the United States. Frances raised and trained services dogs to visit The Center for Blind Children and to comfort elderly residents at various nursing homes. She loved all animals, her yard and garden, listening to her husband play the piano, quilting, gift wrapping and singing in the church choir. Most of all, she loved spending time with her beloved family taking trips to the beach or having parties on special occasions.

Her beauty, light heart, endless love and encouragement will be dearly missed by all the countless lives she touched throughout the course of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Crescent 18th Ward Chapel,2195 Pepperwood Drive, Sandy, UT.
