Virginia Lewis Hall

1946 ~ 2016

Virginia Lewis Hall passed away from respiratory failure on October 3, 2016 due to complications related to post-polio syndrome. She was born on June 20, 1946 to John Rowe Lewis and Fay Ludlow in Spanish Fork, Utah. Virginia grew up in Spanish Fork and graduated from BYU with a degree in elementary education. After graduating, she moved to Salt Lake City where she taught first grade for 24 years. She was married to James (Jim) Hall in 1990. His love and care brought so much joy and ability to her life.

Virginia was known for her positive attitude - she looked for the good in everything. She was an accomplished painter and won several awards for her watercolors. She enjoyed a good book (often a mystery novel), scenic rides and a good game of cards. She loved her cat and dog \"fur babies\" and often included their photos in custom greeting cards she created for family and friends. She loved to read cookbooks and watch cooking shows on TV. She had fun tweaking recipes to accommodate her (and her husband\s) very particular tastes. She was a great mentor, motivator and example to 17 nieces and nephews who adored her.

Virginia is survived by her husband and her sister Kathryn Lewis of Provo, Utah. She is also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Lewis and her sister Ann Carter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Foothill 2nd Ward chapel, 1930 S 2100 E, SLC, Utah.
