Chet Miles Gibson

1944 ~ 2016

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Friend, rode his Harley to heaven on May 23, 2016 and reunites with his mother Jane and father Cluff as well as many other loved onesat age 72. Chet was born May 14, 1944 in Banida, ID to Cluff Lowe Gibson and Jane Miles Gibson. He married Kathleen Penrose on July 13, 1965 in Monterey CA while he was serving in the U.S. Army. Their marriage was sealed in the Logan LDS Temple in 1967. He served in Germany during the time of the Vietnam conflict from 1965-1967. Chet is survived by his wife Kathleen and 6 children; Darren (Diane), Chad, Shawn, Kamian Woolley (Todd), Janette Atwood (Ammon), Spencer (Ashley), and 2 adopted sons Al To\a (Jennifer), Darrell Eaton (Kim). Chet has 24 wonderful grandchildren that adore him beyond measure. He has 5 sisters and 1 brother. Chet grew up in Preston ID and lived in Missoula MT, West Valley City UT, Cameron Park CA, Arlington Heights IL and West Jordan UT. Chet supported his family as a successful salesman and helped many people as a result of his profession. His most recent employment was with Kellogg Insurance Marketing, as an Agent. He really enjoyed all of the people he worked with at the office, as well as all of his clients. He spoke of them all as friends. He cared so much about those he met and was very genuine in all relationships he built over the years. Chet loved riding his Harley, especially his long trips with dear friend Ron Kellogg, taking mom with him on those rides, and having his son's ride along side with him. Riding the Harley was his Heaven on Earth. He also loved camping, hunting, fishing, horse races, cooking, drinking Diet Pepsi, and watching old westerns, attending his children\s and grandchildren\s events and mostly just loved being around his entire family. Dad\s cooking, stories, laughter, love and so much more will be missed by all! He truly is the GREATEST MAN we have ever known.Ride hard Dad, We Love You!!

Viewing will be held at Larkin MortuaryTuesday May 31st from 6:00-9:00 p.m.3688 W. 12600 S., Riverton, UT.Funeral services will be heldWednesday June 1 at 11:00 a.m.with aviewingfrom 9-10:30 a.m.in the Mountain Shadows 5th Ward, 7925 S. 2700 W., West Jordan UT.Interment will be held at Riverton City Cemetery13200 S. 1500 W. Riverton, UT.
