Helen Joyce Wagstaff Christiansen

1932 ~ 2017

Helen Joyce Wagstaff Christiansen passed away December 19, 2017 after a long battle with Dementia. She is the daughter of Harold and Gladys Wagstaff and lived in Holladay, Utah her entire life. She married Ralph Stanley Christiansen on September 15, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple and together they had five children.

Helen is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived the example set by Jesus Christ throughout her life. She served for over 30 years in the Primary, which she loved because she adores children. Helen was kind to everyone, refused to judge others and was grateful for the simple things. She loved to knit, sew, swim in her pool, spend time with her family, have parties with her grandchildren and was an avid bowler. Her slow-moving curve ball guided her to many 200+ games over the years.

For the past several years, Helen has been a prisoner to her illness and looked forward to the time she could leave this life. She longed to be reunited with those who preceded her in death: Her husband, Stanley, parents (Jake and Gladys), siblings (Kathy, Ivy, Ron and Lavelle), and a great grandson (Jakey). She is survived by her children Chris Wilson of Henderson, Nevada; Linda Mortensen (Roy) of Boise, Idaho; Mark Christiansen (Sue) of Henderson, Nevada: Joan King (Mark) of Modesto, California; Karen Morgan (Tyler) of Holladay, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and her brother, Brig Wagstaff (Gail) of SLC, Utah,.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS chapel located at 4917 South Viewmont Street in Holladay, Utah. A viewing will be held that same day from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Holladay Memorial Park Cemetery at 4900 South Memory Lane following the services. We express our deep gratitude to Melissa King (granddaughter) who lived with Helen for the past 20 months, allowing her to stay in the comfort of her home. We are also grateful to Esther and her staff at the Beehive Home and Millcreek Home Health and Hospice for making mom's final days so comfortable and respectful. These workers hardly knew mom, but comforted and cried with us, even taking time to tell her good-bye in her final hours. Esther, Arelia, Julie, Emily, Laura, Jill, Christian, Cheryl, Sarah, Debbie, Maria, Antonia, Thomas, Michael, Katie, Susie, Dale, and others you are angels on earth and we are so grateful to you all.
