Kathryn Alice Kuhre Meier

1924 ~ 2015

Kathryn Alice Kuhre Meier, 90, passed away peacefully at her home January 28, 2015. She was born November 16, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Newell John Kuhre and Ruth Marie Jeremy Kuhre. Kathryn wasa wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who alwaysstrived tolive her life in a Christ like manner.

Kathryn spent 88 of her 90 years living on the same street in Cottonwood. She married the love of her life, Robert Charles Meier on May 18, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDSTemple. She was obedient, loyal, dedicated, honest, and had a great sense of humor. Mom was known for her chocolate cake, brownies, Sunday\s roast beef sandwiches, chocolate malts, red licorice and doublemint gum. She never missed sending a birthday card to her sweetheart, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mom will be remembered for her love of the color lavender and her sweet smelling perfume.

She worked alongside her husband in the family business, Meier\s Meat Market. Mom lived a life of service to her family and faithfully served in various church callings. She served alongside her husband as mission mom in the Arcadia, California mission. She supported him in his many leadership callings. She earned 4 Eagle Scout Awards. Active member of the DUP.

She is survived by her husband, Robert C. Meier, of 65 years, 5 children, Robert K (Larna), Jeremy (Becky), Marshall (Dixie), Kevin (Tracy), Ruthann Rowland (Rick), 24 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Helen Burton, brothers William Kuhre and Jerome Kuhre (Diane). Preceded in death by parents and by brother Calvin Kuhre.

Viewing will be held Monday February 2, 2015 6-8 pm at the Cottonwood 11th Ward, 6400 South 1830 East. Funeral services will be held TuesdayFebruary3rd, 12:00 pm at Cottonwood 11th Ward. There will be a viewing prior at 10:00am-11:30 am. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
