Charles Johanson

1951 ~ 2015

Chuck Johanson passed away suddenly on Jan. 7, 2015 doing what he loved, skiing at Snowbird. Chuck was born in Woodland, California September 24th, 1951 to John and Anne Johanson. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1969 and moved to Utah to attend the University of Utah where he was a stand out football player from 1970-1973. In 1973 he was a unanimous selection for the All WAC team and an honorable mention All American. He was later named to the University of Utah All Century Team. After his football career he served on the Board of Directors for the Crimson Club and also began his secret alter ego as the Crimson Warrior. As such an avid Ute fan he has only missed three home games since his playing days.

Chuck was an extremely proud father to his three children, Cortney, Rebecca and Jake. He was best known for his infectious smile and ability to make friends and hold a special place in his heart for each of them.

In his free time, Chuck enjoyed skiing, spending time on his boat in Lake Powell listening to Jimmy Buffet, riding his red Harley up the canyons, and most of all being with loved ones.

Chuck is survived by his wife Debbie and their son Jake (10); his daughter Cortney, her husband Fabio Ferierra and son Dominick, and daughter (due in the spring); daughter Rebecca, her husband Conan Conway and their daughter (also due in the spring); father John; sister Louise and husband John Valencia; and countless other friends who he called family.
