Gerald (Jerry) Robert Ames passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. Jerry was born November 4, 1937. He was a tough guy—a Marine, a shoe salesman (beloved 1st job), a banker, and car business associate; he was an enthusiastic traveler/cruiser, was a fervent reader, and deeply loved family (especially time spent outdoors camping with friends and fishing with his boys).
Survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Peggy; three sons Jack, Mike (Carrie), and Tony (Toni); five Grandchildren Samantha (Michael), Miles (Kayla), Marcus, Jacki, Cache, and Great-grandson Noah.
Son of George and Marjorie and brother to Jack (Bonnie), he will be missed.
A family memorial service will be on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Larkin Mortuary 300 East and South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah.
