Janet Bertoch Heyn

1922 ~ 2018

Janet was the last survivor of 11 children born to Vivian C. Bertoch and Hazel Hemenway Bertoch. They lived on a farm in Hunter, Utah. She was proud of her pioneer heritage.

Janet married John Heyn on June 1, 1940. They were married for 50 years. After Dad passed away, Mother lived independently for 25 years until the age of 93. She took pride in her home and yard. She enjoyed senior group activities, golf, gardening, aerobics, reading, contesting, scrapbooking, sewing and cooking. Janet worked for 12 years at JCPenney in the advertising department doing copy and layout for newspaper ads.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Lynda Logsdon; son, Jeff Heyn (Renate); 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Heyn; daughter, Jana Heyn; grandson, Chris Heyn; granddaughter, Julie Hansen; 4 brothers and 6 sisters.

Thank you to all of her caregivers, family, Brookdale Assisted Living and Cornerstone Hospice Care during the last three years of her long life.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Burial at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
