On May 27, 2018, Corri Corriveau at the age of 75 passed peacefully into his Heavenly Father\s care after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. A devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, friend, and brother, he was a man among men—a hero to his entire family—and he will be missed until we reunite with him on the other side of the veil.
Born in 1943, Corri was the oldest of five children born to Roland and Peggy, who had settled in Globe, Arizona after World War II. As a teenager, he embraced the new sounds of rock-and-roll, drove a 57 Chevy, and excelled at sports. He was student body president and played quarterback for Globe High School. He was recruited by BYU in 1961. As he was driving from Globe to Provo, Utah to start his college football career, his family car was struck by a drunk driver and his leg was crushed—and so were his chances of playing quarterback for BYU. He would often refer to this setback as one of the biggest blessings of his life. To avoid the cold Utah winters, which aggravated the metal pins in his leg, he transferred to Church College of Hawaii on the North Shore of Oahu (now known as BYU-Hawaii) where he met the beautiful Jennifer Paul, from Tasmania, Australia. Corri served a successful full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in French-speaking Quebec, Canada. When he returned from his mission, he married Jennifer in the Mesa, Arizona temple, graduated from University of Arizona, and then completed his Master's degree in International Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management. After a few years working in Brussels, Belgium, he returned to Tempe, Arizona, where he enjoyed building lasting relationships with his clients at Valley National Bank. He was promoted to Executive Vice President, and relocated the family to Cottonwood Heights, Utah in 1988. Corri loved living in Utah—he loved the mountains, golfing at Willow Creek Country Club, and being close to his three children: Paul, Bryce, and Danielle. But the cold winters bothered his leg, so he and Jennifer eventually retired to sunny St. George, Utah, in 2008. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a jokester, a wise counselor, a kind soul, a man of faith, a husband extraordinaire, and a dad for all seasons.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4 at 11 a.m. at Corner Canyon LDS Chapel located at 1788 Aintree Ave., Draper, Utah. A viewing will take place on Sunday, June 3 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell (10600 South) in Sandy, UT and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
