Sally Cornett

1939 ~ 2015

Sally Cornett, 75, of Holladay, Utah died peacefully at home on March 16, 2015. Born October 5, 1939 in Springfield, Illinois she is predeceased by her parents, Susie and Thomas Drury of Versailles, MO. In June of 1963 she married the love of her life; Robert N. Cornett in Versailles, Missouri. They were married 31 years.

Sally graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor\s degree in elementary education. She was the Senior Class President and was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. Sally was a devoted school teacher, successful real estate agent, and was actively engaged in her children\s education, serving as a PTA President.

As an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society, Sally enjoyed the camaraderie, friendship, and service to others. Sally was proud to be a Deacon at Mt. Olympus Presbyterian Church, cherished the congregation, and was deeply touched by the prayers in her behalf. Celebrated for her sense of humor, kindness, and intellect, Sally was a friend to all.

Survivors include her two children, Andrea (Andrew) Cornett of Holladay, and Robert (Elaine) Cornett, Jr., grandchildren Sarah and Ian Cornett of Arlington, VA; and five nieces, five nephews, two great nieces and two great nephews, as well as her beloved dog Bandit.

Sally\s family expresses their profound gratitude to the staff at Care Source Hospice, particularly Danni—the most dedicated CNA ever, and Cindy—an extraordinarily talented RN.
