Mother and dear friend Gayla Anne Bolstad Bell (69) passed away May 21, 2019 of heart failure, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born November 24, 1949 in Salt Lake City, to Hans Weeding and Lillian LaJune (June) Bolstad. She married Kenneth Warren Bell August 4, 1978 in the Salt Lake Temple. Gayla was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daySaints. She served as a teacher in Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary, and in various other church callings.She and her family coordinated the ward building cleaning each Saturday for several years, often working with those assigned. They also served meals to the homeless one day each week for a number of years. Gayla taught elementary school in the Salt Lake City School District for 44 years, and was teaching at Meadowlark Elementary until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Robert Kenneth Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Karen LaJune Bolstad, and a brother, Paul Croft Bolstad.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019, 11:00 a.m. in the Rose Park Center Ward chapel, 874 North Star Crest Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
