Dorothy was born November 17, 1921 to Thomas Georgeopoulos and Olive Deloris Cardwell. She left this world but not our hearts on March 9, 2018.
Dorothy married William Reed Ellison March 4, 1939 (later divorced). Together they had three daughters: Sharon Kay Manning, Billie Jean "Jeanie" Ellison, and Bonnie Gay Eichelberger (Roy).
Married Charles "Chick" O'Nash, April 5, 1983 (deceased).
Big things come in small packages, and Dorothy was no exception. She was dedicated, hard-working, dependable, energetic, and knowledgeable with exceptional secretarial skills. She made an impression on everyone she met because of her friendly, outgoing personality. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She had 8 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
"Little Grandma" was always ready to play a good game of Skip Bo or Bingo. She looked forward to her weekly time spent at The Heritage and was often found chauffeuring her "older" friends around. She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren but always found the time to show up and support them, cheering them on. She was very generous and found joy in giving whether it be her time, resources, or candy stash. Her long life can be attributed to diet coke, black coffee, powdered donuts, mini strawberry shakes, and"Lifesaver" mints.
Dotti worked outside the home. She was regional secretary for S and H Green Stamps, worked for Valley Bank and Trust for several years, and was secretary for the City of Salt Lake (Housing Authority).
She was always taking classes to improve her skills, becoming proficient in shorthand, office management, and computer skills. These skills she took with her after retirement as she was an American Legion Auxiliary volunteer. She volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital for over 22 years and well into her 90's. She has received numerous awards of recognition for her thousands of hours of service.
Dorothy is preceded in death by daughters Sharon Kay Manning and Billie Jean "Jeanie" Ellison; grandson Jeff Reed Manning; great-granddaughter Billie Jean Petersen; and great-granddaughter Cassidy Olivia Wintle.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 16th at 11:00 AM with viewings on Thursday, March 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00-10:45 am all at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy. Interment to follow at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave and N Street, Salt Lake City.
