Robert Spence Harper

1925 ~ 2013

On December 25, 2013,Robert Spence Harper,age 88, joined his loving wife, Lola, in heavento celebrateChristmas morning together again. Robert and his twin brother Ross, were born toHector and KathrynHarper of SLC, on April 28, 1925,becoming the5th in a family of nine children.

A member of the Greatest Generationand a veteran of WWII, proudly servinghis country in the Navy for 3 years as a signalman, Seaman 2nd Class, aboard the USS Idaho. At nearly 89 years old, he witnessed great and amazing advances in his life. Herecalledriding in Model T\s and being entertained by evening radio before television wasevenavailable, yet lived long enough to see people walk on the moon, cell phones, and the internet. He enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends, and was always looking for a way to help anyone wherever he could.

Robert was a hard workerwho enjoyed loving as much asthe love of, his family and friends. He was a terrific role model to his son, Spence, and grandchildren, Douglas Robert, Elizabeth Anne, and Catherine Grace, and a dear friend to his daughter-in-law,Kellie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 A.M. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
