Donna Luce Blue

1934 ~ 2015

Donna Fae Luce was born February 8, 1934 in Price, Utah, to Agnes Prettyman and John Oley Luce. She died peacefully at home of natural causes on January 26, 2015.

Donna had one older sister, Betty Jean Luce, and two younger brothers, John Oley Luce and Ruland Albert Blackburn "Fuzzy." Betty and Fuzzy preceded her in death.

Donna married John E. Burns (divorced). They had a son, John Evan Burns, and a set of triplets that passed away at birth. She later married Arnold W.C. Bias (divorced). Five children were born to them; Carla, Robert, Arna, Mitchell and Jeff. In the seventies, she married Harland E. Blue (preceded in death) who brought to the family Gary, a daughter, and Ed, whom she helped raise. Later in life Donna married Everett (Tiny) Melberg (also preceded in death).

She raised nieces Lee and Morrene, and later in life grandchildren Eric (preceded in death) and Kayla whom she adopted. Donna was an adopted mother by heart to her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by John Luce and wife Laura; and Betty's husband Willard Butterfield; her children: John and Cheryl Burns, Carla and Glen Lawrence, Arna and Ben Kindig, Mitchell Bias and Jeff Bias. Also survived by her step-children: Gary and Linda Blue and Ed Blue; 34 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Her life-long passion was caring for others. Her entrepreneurial spirit shown through in the beauty salon she co-owned with Betty. She later went to the University of Alaska and ran a tax preparation service out of her home. She later retired from J.C. Penney's Salon.

We would like to thank IHC Hospice for the wonderful care of almost three years given in her home. Her CNA, Laura; Nurse, Jeff and Dr. McIntire are due a special thanks for the compassion, patience and care they gave Donna at her home. Her final years were spent in comfort and dignity due to the efforts of these and many others.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road. Family and friends may visit Friday afternoon from 2:30 ‚ 3:30 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple.
