Janice Rowley Parkin

1940 ~ 2018

Janice Rowley Parkin passed away April 10, 2018 in Layton, Utah. Born to Lorin Hans Rowley and Frances Terry Rowley April 4, 1940 in Provo, Utah. Janice married Robert Hill Parkin on August 9, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She loved to read and enjoyed playing all kinds of games. She liked sewing and crocheted all of her grandchildren's baby blankets. She enjoyed watching the plays at Tuacahn and loved watching the Utah Jazz. She enjoyed going to reunions and camping. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in various callings. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert Parkin; Son, Jeff Parkin; Daughters, Diane Alder and Jana (Kim) Roundy; Seven Grandchildren, Chelsea (Tyler Miller) Parkin, Tyler (Caitlyn) Roundy, Kaylea (Daniel) Longmore, Michael Parkin, Josh Roundy, Jayden Alder, and Kylee Alder; one Great-Grandson, Adonis Miller; Five Sisters, Marilyn (Bryce) Jackman, Anita (Lyman) Fisher, Annette McMillan, Kathy (Clark) Smith, Geniel (Larry) Childs; and many Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by her Parents; Son, Michael Robert Parkin; Father- and Mother-in-Law, Lincoln and Florence Parkin; Brother-in-Law, Dee McMillan; Sister-in-Laws, Janeal (Glenn) Hancock and Marilyn (Bob) Epperson; and Grandson, Travis Roundy.

Services will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Oakhills Ward (1410 East Gentile Street, Layton, Utah). Friends and Family may call to the Oakhills Ward Monday prior to services from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
