1920 ~ 2014

Enid Pearl Terry Stroud was born on May 3, 1920 in West Jordan, Utah. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 14, 2014 in South Jordan, Utah. She returned to her sweetheart of 71 years just in time for Father's Day. She was the 12th child of George Otis and Agnes Emerette Anderson Terry. She attended Jordan Jr. and West High School. She married the love of her life, Dean Kennedy Stroud, in the Salt Lake City Temple on January 3rd 1945.

Mom loved life, her family and serving others. She was an angel on earth. She was one of the first Golden Gleaners in Mutual. She was an ultimate fisherwoman. She played 1st base for the ladies White Sox softball team during the war and she was very proud of her throwing arm. She was a charter member of the Stuffers Dinner Club, friends meeting monthly for dinner and vacationing together for 59 years. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings, mostly with the young women, during her 94 years, and especially loved serving as a visiting teacher.

She is survived by her children: Roger (Joyce) Stroud, Terry (Rena) Stroud, David (Kristin) Stroud, Robyn (Gary) Anderson, and Shanna (Layne) McClure; 23 grandchildren, and 74 great-grandchildren. She was the end of her entire family generation, and was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Kennedy Stroud, all of her siblings, parents, and one granddaughter Ashley Stroud.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Midvalley 5th Ward, 1211 East 7800 South, Sandy, Utah. Friends may call from 9:00-10:30 AM prior to services. Interment will be at the West Jordan City Cemetery.

Special thanks to the staffs of the Wentworth Assisted Living Center and the Carrington Court Memory Care Unit, and the LDS Eastridge 10thBranch, where Mom and Dad attended the last 2 years. And a very special thanks to the employees of Access Hospice.
