Born Feb. 17, 1918, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles Owen Saunders and Florence Kershaw Saunders. Died Apr. 28, 2015, the last survivor of his immediate family of 7.
Graduated from East High School. A 3-year veteran of WWII; served with 35th Field Hospital 5th Army from North Africa to Rome, Italy. Married June N. Burt July 25, 1949, in Elko, Nevada. The marriage was blessed with two wonderful children, Patricia Saunders Dempsey and Michael William Saunders. Preceded in death by wife June and daughter Patricia.
He worked as a real estate developer, used-car dealer and managing salesman for local Cadillac, Buick, and Chevrolet dealers. He enjoyed and took pride in his professions. He will be remembered for his honesty, gentle disposition and sweet spirit.
He wanted no funeral services and no mourning. (I mean it!!) He wanted all those who knew him to celebrate his life and remember him for his ever-pleasant smile and the laughter in his eyes.
Survived by son Michael and wife Adel, 4 grandchildren (Mandee, Kevin, Scott and wife Teresa, Tammy) and 4 great grandchildren ( Rylee, Jacy, Katelyn, Kinley).
