Frank Winters

1961 ~ 2016

Frank Winters, passed away on the early morning hours of October 5, 2016, from complication of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), at his home in Kearns, Utah.

Frank was born on August 30, 1961, to Robert and Nellie Winters of Salt lake City, Utah. Frank attended schools throughout the Salt Lake Valley, and graduated from Valley High School in 1980. Frank promptly join the United State Army where he served in Fort Hood Texas and Frankford Germany. Frank left the armed service after four years of service and relocated back in Salt Lake City. Frank worked many years in the construction trade and professional truck driving field, including owning his own trucking business for nine years. Frank had many passions in his life, but two most worthy are his love for riding motorcycles and fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. Frank often said he felt most alive when he was riding his bike, he loved the wind in his face and the carefree feeling he experienced of the road way. Frank second hobby was fishing at Strawberry Reservoir, Frank would often tell fish stories about how the biggest fish ever, got away. The stories were bigger than life itself, but those who knew Frank would expect nothing else. Frank was often referred to as the "Grumpy old man" but those in Franks life knew Frank's rough exterior was just a show, inside Frank was a marshmallow, Frank would do anything for those he loved.

Frank preceded in death by his mother Nellie Winters. He is survived by, his father Robert Winters, Riverton, Utah. Long term girlfriend and the love of his life, Beverly Geer (Her children and grandchildren), Kearns Utah. His daughter, Tracee Winters (Brett Matheson), two granddaughters, Nacole and Jara Ackerland, Idaho falls, Idaho. His sister, Karen Childs (Jim) West Jordan, Utah. His brother Steven Winters (Brooke) Riverton, Utah.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 12 Noon at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road (1700 West).
