Evelyn (Kris) May Christensen Grosjean

1922 ~ 2014

Bountiful ‚ Evelyn (Kris) May Christensen Grosjean, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah. Kris was born September 25, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Herbert and Katie Van Noy Christensen. She was preceded in death by her brother Herbert Jr. Christensen, and sisters Peggy Whetton and Katherine Robinson

Kris worked at Ft. Douglas in the accounting department; then at Hill Air Force Base from 1947 ‚ 1974. She retired at age 62, but soon became bored so she volunteered at the Salt Palace and was later employed by them for a few years. It was while she was working at the Salt Palace that she rode UTA bus #62 to and from Bountiful to Salt Lake City. She kept everyone laughing with her great sense of humor and treating them with homemade goodies. Everyone knew and loved Kris. Kris' greatest virtue was in making others laugh.

Kris was a woman of many talents. There wasn't anything she couldn't build or fix in her home. She also taught herself to knit and crochet. She went on to win a blue ribbon at the national level for a sweater she crocheted and it was her first!

There was never a greater Jazz fan than Kris. Arriving two hours before each game, her third row season tickets placed her close enough so she could banter with all the players. She has personal signed pictures of all her favorite players, including Michael Jordan.

Services for Kris will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City. A gathering will be held prior to the service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT.
