Marian Florence Theobald Walkowski

1926 ~ 2017

Marian Florence (Theobald) Walkowski, our beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to everyone, has gone home to her mom and dad and loving heavenly father. She passed away peacefully on August 5th2017, after a catastrophic stroke incapacitated her. She lived a long and wonderful life; definitely leaving a lasting impression on everyone and leaving the world a much better place. She was full of life and lived life to the fullest, yet she was always thinking of others first. She loved anything beautiful; flowers, laughter, family, her beloved husband of nearly seventy years, and the Lord and our Savior. She was a devoted wife, a consummate cook, a polished entertainer and comedienne, a proud and classy lady, a mother bear, an accomplished hypnotherapist, a shrewd businesswoman, a world-traveler, an idealist and a realist, a talented artist, and a compassionate, caring seeker of struggling and lost sheep. Mostly, she had a devout devotion to her Savior. And her favorite book was the "Book of Mormon". Yet for all her noble trappings and exceptional traits, she lived simply and humbly—no pretense. Everyone who knew her, lovingly called her "Muffy". And she responded as only anyone named "Muffy" would with a broad smile, a compliment and a proffer of something to eat. She was always trying to get you to eat!Marian was born November 6, 1926 to Elizabeth and Harland Theobald. She had four brothers (Ken, Bruce, Keith and Harland). On August 20, 1948, she married the love of her life, Aloysius John Walkowski, and was later sealed to him for all eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. Although of humble beginnings, they were a hard-working team and because of her shrewd tenacity and forward-thinking and his hard work, they were very successful in all that they did. But the success that mattered most to them was their family. They raised four children, Kim (Julie Ewell), A.J. (Dale Price), Cary (Kim Sondrup) and Sharon (Bruce Harris) who in-turn blessed them with 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be heldAugust 12, 2017 at noon, at the Parley's 5thWard, located at 2615 Stringham Avenue (2600 E. 2200 So.— off Parley's Way). A viewing will be held at the same address, starting at10:30 AM. Following the service, she will be interred in the Salt Lake City cemetery, near the graves of her parent. In lieu of flowers, as her last request, please make a financial donation to the Primary Children's Medical Center, in "Muffy's" name.
