Vyvyan E.Pollock, age 97 of Fremont, formerly of Evanston, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Fountain View Retirement Village in Fremont.Vyvyan was born on April 11, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Levi and Ercle (Gardiner) Hopkins and later married Doyon HaroldPollockon November 16, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah.Doyon preceded her in death on January 5, 1989.Vyvyan became a Registered Nurse and worked in the maternity ward for premature children at the Evanston Hospital and later retired from the Presbyterian Retirement Home in Evanston, Illinois.After retirement, Vyvyan spent the winter months in Sun City, Arizona and Fremont and enjoyed reading and antiquing but especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and family.
Vyvyan is survived by her daughter, ChristiePollockof Fremont; her son, Curt (Donna)Pollockof West Chester, Ohio; her grandchildren, Andrew (Shannon)Pollock; Ryan (Rachel Gabelmn)Pollock; Libby (Joseph) Rexoat; Erin (David) Pawlowicz; Daniel (Lori) Brookhouse; Katie (Andy) Harrington; her great grandchildren, Avery, Zachary, Autumn, Joshua, Jozie; her brother, Evan Hopkins of Idaho; close friends, Lynn Brookhouse of Fremont and Hitomi Brokaw of Fremont.Vyvyan was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Hopkins.
Private services were held in Fremont with graveside services at the Salt Lake City Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Fountain View Retirement Village of Fremont Activities Fund in memory of Vyvyan.
