Merrill Jay Syndergaard

1936 ~ 2016

Merrill Jay Syndergaard, 79, passed away in his home on March 15th, 2016. He was born December 2nd 1936 in Salt Lake City Utah to Neil Anthony and Annie Elizabeth Jensen Syndergaard. He married his eternal companion Jo Ann in the Logan Temple on July 22nd 1957.

Merrill was a dedicated and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His life was an example of kindness, compassion, and service. His work ethic was unequalled and he found great joy in providing for others.

Merrill is remembered as a loving father and patriarch. He is survived by his wife Jo Ann, his four children: Jay Syndergaard, Julie (Todd) Gerth, Jodi (Niclas) Moench and Jeremiah Syndergaard; as well as five Grandchildren; Jennie (Rudy) Gracia, Jessica (Jeff) Hicken, Dilan Moench, Parker Gerth and Jake Moench; and three Great Grandchildren Jazella, Jerzie, and Ezra. Merrill was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and in-laws Burt and Thera Fenton.

The viewing will be held Friday, March 18th from 6:30-8:00pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E, S. Temple.

The Funeral service will be Saturday, March 19th at 11:00 am at the old Bryan, now Sugarhouse Ward, located on the corner of 1700 S. and 1100 E. There will be a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 am.

Interment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
