Max Andrew Measels

2001 ~ 2017

Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend: Max. Max was born in Salt Lake City on May 7, 2001 to Kristi and Drew Measels.

Max was a sophomore at Bingham High School. He is remembered as a fun-loving, kind, caring and gentle spirit, with a huge heart. He was compassionate and affectionate towards his family and friends. He was always ready to try all activities and adventures, especially if they included baseball, lacrosse, building forts, wrestling, hiking, football tag or movies with his family. He is forever the family ping-pong champion, and self-proclaimed \"best Marco-Polo player in the history of the game\". Max loved his family, and his family loved him dearly. We will always cherish our memories of summers in Cape Cod, hiking, swimming, bowling, trips to Manila, Alaska, and Oklahoma, and just hanging out and playing games together. He left us far too early. Our lives will never be the same.

Max is survived by his parents, Kristi and Drew Measels and sister, Haley Measels of South Jordan, UT; Grandparents, George and Karen Bruce of West Jordan, UT, and Kim Measels of The Villages, FL; Aunt Heidi Bruce of West Jordan, UT; Uncle Scott and Aunt Joy Bruce of Sandy, UT; Uncle Steve and Aunt Laura Bruce of Pembroke, MA; cousins, Emily Bruce, Elizabeth Fleming, Heidi Bruce, Isaac Bruce, Molly Bruce, and Hanna Bruce; and family pets, Roxy and Bruiser. Predeceased by his Grandfather, David Measels, and Uncle Robert Measels.

A private celebration of life is being planned. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the National Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
