Brett Robert Van Sciver born January 21, 1959, left us way too soon on February 6, 2015, due to a heart attack. Brett was always making us laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor. Brett loved football and was a loyal Ute fan.
Brett graduated from Skyline High School in 1977. One of his proudest moments was being the co-captain of the undefeated Eagles football team. Brett started in both offensive and defensive positions for the state championship team and went on to play for the all star team. Brett was recruited by several universities and was loyal to only one team the U of U and one Coach Ron McBride. Brett graduated from the University of Utah with Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Political Science.
Brett spent 20 years in Las Vegas, in the hotel business before returning to Salt Lake City, to be near his family.
Brett is survived by his mother Glenda, his sister Meggen (Steve), his nephews Chase and Stockton and niece Paige. He is preceded in death by his father Robert and younger brother Gregg.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
