Norma Rosalind Johnson Henneman

1918 ~ 2019

Norma Rosalind Johnson Henneman passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the age of 100. She was born October 20, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ruth Kristina Cecelia Hellberg and John Arthur Johnson both of Salt Lake City. Rosalind was their oldest child and grew up in Salt Lake where she learned to play piano, violin and sing in various choirs. She attended South High, graduated from the University of Utah and then moved to California to attend Fashion School at Woodbury College where she graduated with a degree in Millinery Design. When World War II began, she felt it was her duty to enlist and became one of the first WAVES in the US Navy. Rosalind trained as a link trainer operator to help pilots navigate the skies if they were out of radio contact. It was through this program that she met her future husband Paul F. Henneman who was a marine pilot. They were married on August 20, 1944 in River Falls, Wisconsin and then sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on the 31st of August 1955 . They are the parents of seven children, twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren.

Rosalind was a devoted wife and mother to her family. She loved art, the theatre, music and dance and was a true student of the gospel, loving the scriptures. She spent over 60 years working on her family genealogy and has reams of information on the lines of her relatives extending back hundreds of years.

A private memorial service will be held for family members on August 17th, in honor of her wishes and she will be buried next to her husband at Wasatch Lawn Memorial
