Ross L Oseguera

1936 ~ 2014

The Angels finally called this Bingham Miner up to the Big Leagues. He was so excited he packed his bags on August 22, 2014 for training camp.

He was born October 7, 1936 in Bingham Canyon Utah, and was married to the love of his life Ramona for nearly 50 years. An accomplished Bingham High School athlete with championships in both basketball and baseball. He was instrumental in their playoff success by pitching a no-hitter. He joined the Army in October 1957, stationed mainly in Germany. After serving in Europe he was honorably discharged in 1960. He attended Salt Lake Community College and then the University of Utah, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Accounting. He ran a small business with his wife for more than 20 yrs. He worked and retired from Kennecott Copper after 30 years of service. He was a Union Official for the AFL-CIO Steelworkers Union. He was on the grievance committee and was passionate about the people he was helping. An avid chess tournament player, golfer, self-proclaimed sports critic, skilled gardener and never met a cheeseburger he didn't like. He was an awesome friend and neighbor who loved his community. A very loving man who touched everyone's heart he encountered. He will be dearly missed.

Survived by his loving wife Ramona M. Oseguera, four children; Deb Crose, Dan (Tina) Stuber, Amy (Phil) Stephenson, and John (Lupina) Oseguera, four siblings; Abel (Preddy) Oseguera, Dr. Anthony (Maggie) Oseguera, Jenny (Ron) Gaithers, and Mary Schmidt, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren...and his two kitties, Violet and Zelda. Preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 children and a daughter-in-law.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 27th from 6-8pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC, and on Thursday, August 28th from 11:00 ‚ 11:45 prior to service at 12:00 p.m. Graveside service on Friday, August 29th at 12:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 "N" Street. 49er's and Ute's fans please feel free to dress up in sport gear to show love and support for Ross.
