Dennis Ray Christopherson

1945 ~ 2015

Dennis was born on February 4, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to E.V. and Helen Christopherson. He was adventurous and full of life from the start. Legends of his alleged cherry bombing, with his childhood pals, of the Utah State Capitol building and their \"relocation\" of a baby bald eagle from its nest to his backyard and, eventually, to the experienced care of Tracy Aviary, continue to reverberate through the halls of West High and the Avenues neighborhood where he grew up.

Dennis wore many hats through his life: teacher, balloonist, pilot, whittler, twin, medic, trumpeter, stockbroker, mountain climber, gardener, reader, salesman, radio commentator, jokester, political enthusiast, scouter, pianist, magician, cheerleader, carpenter, bishop, priesthood holder and leader, brother, son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was talented, insightful, articulate, and thoughtful in everything he did.

Dennis loved and cared for his family with a passion. The final years of his life were dedicated to serving and caring for his wife and sweetheart of nearly 49 years, Judith Anne (Jones) Christopherson, an East High Leopardette. He blossomed as a loving and supportive father and grandfather. He never missed a game, graduation, school play, or any other important event in the lives of his children or grandchildren if he could help it. Dennis lived for his family and it showed.

He is survived by Judi and their four children, Katie Erickson (Daniel), Michael (Kristina), Douglas (Jenica), Scott (Whitney), his 11 grandchildren, and his four siblings, Vernon (Jerry), Ken (Terri), Carol-Lynne Malin, and Vickie Lambertsen (Ken).
