Dean Kennedy Stroud

1921 ~ 2014

Dean Kennedy Stroud -92, passed away peacefully on Feb 19, 2014. He was born March 27, 1921 to Luther A. and Jeanette Wilson Stroud in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Riverside Elementary, Jordan Jr. High (Where he was student body president) and West High School. He served proudly in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He later married the love of his life, Enid Pearl Terry, January 3, 1945, in the Salt Lake Temple. He received training in refrigeration thanks to the GI Bill and worked in the business for 40 years. He also worked 25 years building cabinets with his son Roger. Dad loved baseball, camping, fishing and the Utah Jazz, but most importantly he loved his family. He and his wife were charter members of the Stuffers Dinner Club, friends meeting monthly for dinner and vacationing together for nearly 59 years. A devoted member of the LDS Church, he served in many callings during his 93 years.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, five children; Roger (Joyce) Stroud, Terry (Rena) Stroud, Dave (Kristin) Stroud, Robyn (Gary) Anderson and Shanna (Layne) McClure, 23 Grandchildren and 73 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday February 24, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Summit Ridge Ward 14868 S. Juniper Crest Rd. 4970 W. Herriman, Utah. Friends may call prior to the services from 9:30-11:30am.
