Joan Beth Koerfgen

1931 ~ 2014

Joan Beth Koerfgen 83, passed away November 18, 2014 at her daughter's home in Bluffdale after a short battle with cancer. She was born January 4, 1931 to Elias and Myrene Mouritsen in Logan, Utah.

As a child she lived in Logan, Utah until she and her family moved to Salt Lake City as a teenager. She loved being in the outdoors with her family. She graduated from South High School where she excelled in sewing, art and dance. She married Lowell Lund September 3, 1948, in the Salt Lake City Temple, they later had 5 children and eventually divorced. She married Doug Isaacson in 1979, divorced in 2004. In October 27, 2007, she married Hans Richard Koerfgen, the love of her life.

She loved talking to friends and family on the phone, taking pictures with her cell phone, family parties and tending grandkids. If you were ailing, she had a remedy for you, she loved helping others. She was kind and generous with anything she had to share and always eager to help with any work that needed to be done. Her heart was full of compassion and charity. Everyone she came in contact with felt they were important to her.

She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and loved sharing it. She loved working at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. She held many positions throughout her life in the LDS Church which included Ward Young Women's president and primary teacher.

She is survived by sons Howard M. Lund, Steven M. (Gayle) Lund, Lorin M. (Rochelle)Lund; daughters Sheri M. (Ray) Aune, Tami (Derk)Timothy; 21 grand children plus their spouses, more than 46 great grandchildren and two more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her brother Robert E. Mouritsen, her parents, step father Lorin S. Roskelley, and husbands Lowell F. Lund and Hans R. Koerfgen.

Services will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Mountainside LDS Chapel 15040 S. Mountainside Dr, Bluffdale, UT. Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
