Richard C. Crocker

Richard C. Crocker "UNCLE DICK", age 87, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on July 11, 2018 in Salt Lake City. Dick was born October 8, 1930, son of Emory Crocker and Edna Victoria Gotberg Crocker in Salt Lake City. Dick was a wonderful, exemplary man with high standards and all who knew him are better people because of his kind, unselfish example.

He served in the army during the Korean War in Anchorage, Alaska. Dick worked at the Salt Lake City Police department as a clerk stenographer in the Records Bureau. He graduated from the University of Utah and taught business courses at Olympus High School for 30 years. He also worked for 41 years as a part-time faculty member at LDS Business College, retiring at the age of 81.

Dick had a loving extended family. He loved all of his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and had many enjoyable times with them. Dick loved each of them as if they were his own. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in various callings.

Dick is survived by his sister, Shirley Crocker. He was preceded in death by his brother LaMar Crocker and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday July 19, 2018 at the LDS chapel, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2600 East) in Salt Lake City, with a viewing prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. Friends may also visit with the family Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary. 2350 East 1300 South. The interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates.
