Anna Marie Pearson Reading

1943 ~ 2018

Anna Marie Pearson Reading was born in a taxi on December 10, 1943 on the way to the hospital in Murray Utah. She was the fourth of ten children born to Harold Roy and Lena Mae Bagley Pearson. Anna grew up in Midvale, Utah, and had a love of dolls and sewing from a very young age. She started babysitting at the age of 10, and was very sought after in her town. Anna graduated from Jordan High School in 1962. On November 1st 1963, Anna married her high school sweetheart Vern Ostler Reading in the Salt Lake Temple, after faithfully waiting for him to serve a mission to Scotland for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. (Later divorced) Together they had four beautiful children; Michael Reading (Charlotte), Sharla Birschbach (Jeff), David Reading (Jaime), and Melanie Cain (Mark). Anna was a devoted wife and mother and delighted in making everyone around her comfortable and happy. Her real joy came when she became a grandmother. At the time of her passing she had 18 grandkids, and 12 great grandkids with 3 on the way. She knew and adored each and every one, and was very proud of them. Anna was an incredible seamstress, and made beautiful dresses and doll clothes for her girls, and would often sell handmade dolls and doll clothes to pay for Christmas for her family. Anna worked hard all her life. In high school she worked at the Midvale Theater, then went on to work at Walker Bank until the birth of her first child. Later, when her children were older, she worked at Mervyn's Distribution Center, Evco House of Hose, and Southwest Airlines. She always gave her all to her work, and was a very dedicated employee. Anna adored her family, and was happiest when she was surrounded by all of them. She loved each of her nieces and nephews as her own, and loved hearing all about their lives and cheering them on. Anna is preceded in death by her Father, Mother, brother Roy Pearson, and sister Kathryn Anderson. She is survived by her beloved siblings Marian Gleason, Arlene Carlson (Ron), Judy Francisco (Chad), Carma Nielsen (LaMont), Ellen Bryant (Ken), Dan Pearson (Vickie), and Keith Pearson (Jennifer), and her children and grandchildren. She struggled with many health issues during her last few years, and her family finds comfort in knowing that her body is finally at rest, and no longer in pain. We love our mom and grandma and already miss her terribly, but we know we will see her again, and that brings us joy.
