Ed Wilson Gibson

1946 ~ 2014

With heavy hearts we watched our Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Best Friend pass away peacefully on September 23rd, 2014. Born in Hurricane, UT on September 16, 1946. The second child and first son of loving parents Don and Afton Gibson. He was taken way too early by a rare lung disease, but as the Dr. said, he was going out \"with guns a blazing\". We find peace knowing he isn\t suffering anymore andcan finally take that deep breath of the freshest air possible.

Ed attended Hurricane High School where he was a 3 sport All-State athlete. Whether passing for a touchdown, hitting the game winning shot, or knocking one out of the park he was giving it his all.

He was a member of the LDS church, attended SUU, and was active in the Utah National Guard for 5 years. Married Winona Hall, had one daughter, later divorced. Married Robyn Hammill in 1973 and together raised 4 daughters, later divorced. Also married Kim Jones.

Ed owned Gibson Concrete Construction for nearly 40 years and was the hardest working man we knew, always taking such pride in his work and treating his employees like family. He was a lover of horses, shopping at Nordstrom and spending his free time with his daughters and grandchildren. He thought baseball was the all-American sport, loved being a fair weather football fan, even sticking it out his last Sunday to watch football with his family. He attended all of his grandkids sporting events, dance recitals and really any and all family get-togethers. We cherish the time we got to spend with him. You could always count on him to give you an honest answer no matter what the question. He spent the last 14 years living in his dream home in Eagle Mountain, loving the fresh air and small town country feel. We are going to miss him dearly, but know he will be watching over us.

He is survived by his daughters; Kristina, Erika (Wes), Emily (Mauricio), Ashley (Daniel) and Katie. His grandchildren; Gaige, Kaden, Brandon, Makayla, Kyler, Lyndsey, Alexa, Harper and Max. His brothers; Gregg (Merridee) and Cress, also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, DonLurae.
