Yaeko Ikegami

1935 ~ 2018

Yaeko Ikegami passed away on April 15, 2018. Yaeko was born in Hiroshima, Japan on November 2, 1935 to Akitaro and Mitsuko Ikegami. She graduated from Box Elder High School in 1954 and later went on to cosmetology school. She owned her own beauty salon in Holladay, Utah where she had many wonderful clients over the years. Yaeko loved cooking for family gatherings, bowling, golfing, and traveling. She was fortunate to have traveled the world with her beloved family. Some of her favorite places were Japan, Europe, the Panama Canal and Hawaii. She also enjoyed going to Las Vegas and Los Angeles to visit and be around family. Yaeko supported all of her nieces and nephew's activities and was their number one fan. Yaeko also enjoyed watching NBA basketball but especially the Utah Jazz. She was adventurous and willing to try new things.

Yaeko is survived by her sisters and brothers: Yoshiko (Davis) Oda, Yutako, Takashi, and Ken (Kathy); sisters-in-law: Takako Ikegami and Patricia Ikegami and her many nieces and nephews too numerous to name. She was preceded in death by her parents Akitaro and Mitsuko, and siblings Tsutomu, Masako, Akiko, Hiroshi, and Ben.

A viewing and Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E. Dimple Dell Road Sandy, UT) on Saturday April 28, 2018. The viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:30 AM followed by a Celebration of Life from 11:45 to 2:30 PM.
