Nicholas Tiapes Monte

1990 ~ 2013

Nicholas was taken from us unexpectedly on Wednesday evening October 09, 2013 at the young age of 23. He was born in Hayward, CA and lived in the Bay Area until moving to Salt Lake City in 1994 when he was 4 years old. Nick was a lifelong fan of baseball. His favorite team was the San Francisco Giants. He played baseball as a child and was a state champion. He even played football shortly and loved to watch the San Francisco 49ers.

Nick's goals and dedication in life was solely to his family. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. He was a provider and protector to his family and to all those around him. He loved to cook, go fishing, attempt to snowboard, and spoil his girls. He was so proud of his Filipino heritage. Nick loved all types of music. If there was a beat, he was in it. Whatever the lyrics, he would sing at the top of his lungs.

Nick was always the center of attention. If it wasn't by chance, he would make it that way. He had a big heart and an even bigger and infectious smile. He was loved by all who surrounded him and he loved and accepted everyone. He was such a boisterous being.

He left behind his beautiful daughter, Nizeja Pink Rahimic-Monte, a loving fiancée, Zlata, his proud parents, John Monte and Marie and Seth Creer, caring and inseparable siblings, Tony (Brittany), Darlene, and Alexis, and an adoring niece, Cambrianne. He also leaves an abundance of family and friends whom love him dearly and miss him greatly. He is proceeded in death by his grandmother, Mary Ellen Rowe Monte.

Friends and family are welcome to a viewing for Nicholas on Tuesday, October 15th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Larkin Mortuary (260 E. South Temple). The funeral services will be held also at Larkin Mortuary on Wednesday, October 16th at 11:00 AM with a reception directly following at the Rosedale Ward LDS Church (1148 West 500 North). Nick will find his final resting place on Thursday October 17th at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
