Our beloved dad, son, brother and grandson, Cody Ray McCray, age 32, of West Bountiful, UT, passed away Tuesday, July 4 after a police chase and fatal shooting. He battled mental health issues including depression and anxiety for many years. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on June 2, 1985 to Jana Hansen and Arquin Samuel Sanchez.
Cody graduated from West High School in 2003. He married Candice Egolf on May 16, 2008 (later separated). They have two beautiful children Adam (9) and Trinity (5) who will miss their daddy dearly. Cody took pride in working as a mover for Kellogg Movers of Salt Lake City, and spent his spare time being the best dad and friend to his children. Cody is survived by his children, parents; Jana (Patrick) Hansen, Arquin Samuel Sanchez, step-father; Nick Opoulos, sisters; Camille (Jeremy) Holmes, Chassidy (Kenny) Hansen, Jarae Opoulos, Samantha Sanchez, Brittany Opoulos, Josie (Preston) Hatch, brothers, Cody Sanchez and Logan (Brandie) Hansen, grandparents; Julie McCray, Cecil (Charlien) McCray, Arquin and Yolanda Sanchez, Skip Opoulos, and Afton (Jack) Harris, uncles; Bret (Robin) McCray, Terry (Kristie Keeley) McCray, Scott McCray (his idol) Michael (Debbie) Opoulos, aunts; Georgia (Jeffrey) Gill, Christine (Sean) Butcher, Delores Sanchez, Lynnette (Dan) Mickelson, Shazzanna (Corey) Chorn, many niecies, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceeded in death by his grandmother; Patricia Opoulos, grandfather; Delbert Lee Hansen uncles; Raymond Sanchez, Jim Sanchez.
His infectious smile, practical jokes, and willingness to help anyone anytime will be missed.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 13th, 2017 at Porter-Walton Park, 95 South 400 West, Centerville, UT from3:00pm ‚ 10:00pm(Please No Media). Cody loved to see his children happy and to host any type of celebration, we will have a water slide (bring swimsuits for the kids) and a bounce house.
