Joan passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Salt Lake Regional Hospital due to her age. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Christian and Johanna Hahl. The family moved to New Jersey when she was about 14, and in her early adult years she moved to Salt Lake City, UT. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Connie Hahl, Enid Hahl (Yourstone), Judy Hahl, and Erna Hahl (Hensley). Joan has 11 nieces and nephews whom she loved getting letters from.
Joan is best described as being \"Child Like\" without being \"Childish\". She was independent and loved to travel and go to the theater. LDS Hospital was were she spent her days working in the offices. When computers came in, she took a class to learn how to use them. Her mind was very alert, she learned medical terminology to advance and get a raise.
Joan was a member of the LDS Church. Visiting Teaching and parties were things she looked forward to. She was blessed with the ability to be Christ Like and love everyone. We are excited for her to move on and begin the next chapter of her life. Her eternal family is reunited.
