Calvin Albiston Nelson, 91, passed away May 14, 2017 at his beloved Cabin in Fruitland, Utah. He was formally from Sandy Utah. He was born Dec. 6, 1925 in Franklin, ID to Carl and Rhea Albiston Nelson. Married Shirley Jarrad, Dec. 12, 1946, Navy Veteran of WWII. Member of the American Legion, worked at Kennecott Copper Corp. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather to many, brother, uncle and friend.
Survived by daughters Susan (Ted) Ledbetter, Sandy Slaymaker, Denise (Jene) Lyday, Kelly (Kirk) Newson, Teresa (Lee) Deppe, brother Kenneth (Jean) Nelson and sister Beverly Rocks. Preceded in death by wife Shirley, son Craig, and granddaughter Kimberly.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, (10600 South) in Sandy. Please join us at the graveside for services on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m.
