Michael Dean Kyker

1948 ~ 2018

Michael Dean Kyker "Mike" died March 21, 2018 in Magna, Utah surrounded by family. Uncle Mike wanted the following things to be highlighted in his life: Mike was born September 25, 1948 in Dixon, Illinois to Winford Harold and Regina Jane (Haney) Kyker. He graduated from Dixon High School in 1967.

Mike enlisted in the Marines on September 15, 1967 and served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. Awards earned during his service in the Marines: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, RVN Cross of Gallantry, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Expert. He was honorably released in 1973.

Mike and his sweet wife, Julia Billeb [daughter of Kenneth and Ina (Lindsey) Billeb], made a home in Des Moines, Iowa. Mike loved gunsmithing, fishing and traveling with Julia. Mike earned his diplomas in Welding, Tool and Die, and Operating Engineer. All from Des Moines Community College. Some of Mike's fun phrases are: "Well, I'm not trying to be funny" and "Wrong Attitude huh". Mike is a member of the AARP and the Baldwin Patterson Post 274. He is a lifetime member of the NRA and The American Legion.

Survivors include: his nephews family that he has been living with ‚ Brian Elvis (Angela) Hulleberg Sr and family ‚ Brian Benjamin J. Hulleberg Jr., Kyker Elvis Hulleberg, Sara Ann Hulleberg, of Magna, Utah. Brothers: Patrick H. (Barb) Kyker ‚ Centralia, IL, Timothy P. Kyker - Pine Creek Township, IL. Nephews: Bjorn (Kathy) Hulleberg Jr., Patrick W. Kyker, Jeffrey A. (Lori) Kyker, Matthew Kyker, Levi (Deb) Kyker. Niece: Regina T. Burck. Aunts: Delores (Bob) Massey, Eleanor Kyker and Sharon Kyker. Cousins: Roberta L. Kyker, Nell (Brad) Eakle. Susan (Todd) Ogan, Kendall Kyker, John Kyker. Friends: Rocky (Vicki) Vitiritto and family, Jim "Alphabet" Salkiewicz, and Tom Rhodes. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents in 1998 and 1994, the love of his life, his wife ‚ Julia Billeb in 2008, sister ‚ Regina Marie Hulleberg in 1988. Mike admired his grandmother, Lillie Reba (Myers) Kyker who died in 1981. Mike had many stories of his uncles and their crazy adventures: Robert Levi Kyker died in 1974, Daniel Ward Kyker died in 1944, Gene Henry Kyker died in 2015, Harry Andrew Kyker died in 1961

Funeral arraignments by Larkin Funeral Home. Per Mike's request there will not be a funeral service. There will be a private graveside service later.
