William Rees Horman

1945 ~ 2016

After a short and valiant battle with cancer, our loving husband, father, papa, brother and friend passed away surrounded by his loved ones on March 19, 2016. William Rees Horman was born July 11, 1945 to Albert and Muriel Horman in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in the S.L. Valley attending Evergreen Jr. High and graduated from Olympus High School. He served in the Army Reserves, before dedicating two years as a missionary in the South West British Mission, then graduating with a Bachelors in Finance from the University of Utah. He was sealed to Jacqulynn Boone in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 13, 1967. Together they raised six children.

Papa welcomed everyone into his home with a smile. He loved to barbeque, share his famous salsa and made sure he had everyone's favorite drink on hand for when they came over. Dad loved being outdoors whether it be scuba diving, hiking, fishing or golfing, he shared many fond memories with his sons and son-in-laws doing so. He loved his wife and his girls dearly and was always protective and willing to help them whenever needed, even if they didn't think they needed the help, he was always willing to help.

He loved to serve, and always did so willingly. For 25 years he served in the Jordan River Temple and Draper Temple alongside his love, Jackie. His dream to serve a mission with his bride came true, when they left to serve in the Massachusetts Boston Mission from July 2012- January 2014. They made many friends and served alongside with the missionaries which were always welcome to share a meal and an encouraging smile. Serving his family and church brought him great joy. Bill loved the Savior and his strong testimony will serve and bless his family in the years to come. To say he was loved and loved others is an understatement. He set the standard for what a loving husband, father, papa, brother and friend should be. TRUE STORY.

Survived by his wife, 6 children, Billy (Suzy) Horman, Chandy Bronson, Kim (Les) Mascherino, Angie Spendlove, Dustin (Hillary) Horman, Sarah (Bryan) Young, 23 grandchildren, siblings Barbara (Ken) Erickson, Diane Ashton, Joan (Jay) Lente, Rhys (Cinda) Horman and RaeMi (Rex) Stanworth. Preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Jed Ashton.

We would like to thank all those that assisted in his care, especially his loyal and dedicated wife Jackie.
