William Dean Rogers

1936 ~ 2015

Our loving father, William Dean Rogers was surrounded by love when he passed away June 26, 2015 from a long battle with cancer. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 15, 1936 to William Dean Rogers Sr. and Lillian Marsh Rogers. He met our mother, Patricia Grim Rogers as a teenager in Los Angeles and they married November 6, 1955. They moved to Utah in 1960 and raised their three children and a sister in West Valley and then in Bountiful, Utah. Our father was very proud of his work as a general contractor building houses. He loved the outdoors and faithfully waterskied at Echo Reservoir and Lake Powell in the summer and snow skied at Park City Mountain Resort with his many friends every weekend in the winter. We bet you can still find their stashes of spirits at the top of the Parley's Park and the Glory Hole ski runs. He took great pride in teaching each of his three children both of these activities and was always willing to teach others and was the last one off the lake or mountain.

He is survived by his wife and everyone's friend, Pat Rogers, his son Guy Rogers (Yoshie), daughters Ronda Davis (Bob) and Dana Baird (Dave) and his honorary daughter, Gloria Davis (John) plus 8 adored grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald Rogers. A special thanks to Kathy, Sonnie and Barbara and the many helpers at Good Shepherd Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in his name at https://donate.huntsmancancer.org/2015-general-donation.

A Celebration of Life will be held the evening of Saturday, July 4th, at 6:30 pm, please contact a family member for further details.
