Jonathan Lee Stowers

1957 ~ 2014

Jonathan Lee Stowers passed away at home on December 26, 2014. Jonathan was born in Aurora, Colorado on June 26, 1957 to Jack Burdick and Rita Boren Stowers. He graduated from Cottonwood High School and the University of Utah with a Bachelors and Masters of Arts Degrees in Spanish.

He worked at Fidelity Investments and earned his Series Seven designation. In 1988 he joined the faculty of Salt Lake Community College. During his time he has been head of the Fine Arts and Languages Departments where he was known as a serious, hard working, responsible teacher. His students respected him.

Jonathan had leading rolls in musical theatre for many years. His resume includes over 75 titles.

He enjoyed his outside fish pond and outside birds. He also had inside birds. He enjoyed the companionship of his dogs at home, running the canal road and hiking.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his sister, Kathy and brother in law, Mike. He is survived by his father, his sisters, Suzanne Ruskieviecz and Judy Siddoway and brother, Jackson Scott Stowers.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Chapel (2350 E. 1300 S.). A viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:45 AM prior to services. Interment will be in the Holladay Memorial Cemetery. Condolences can be shared at www. larkinmortuary.com.
