Our sweet angel son and brother peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on October 12, 2015 while surrounded by the loving arms of his family. Mitchell was born on August 14, 2001 in Sandy, Utah to John and Jacqueline Armstrong. Mitchell was the youngest of five children. Mitchell loved kisses, hugs, head tickles, back rubs, big stretches, music, odd sounds that his family members perfected, and just hanging out with his family. Mitchell was treasured and spoiled by his family - he was everyone's favorite!!! Mitchell had many physical challenges yet he was an example of courage, patience, and enduring well.
Mitchell enjoyed attending Jordan Valley School where he loved his teachers and many friends. Our family would like to thank them for their love and support over the years. We also want to acknowledge the many healthcare professionals that provided great care to Mitchell over the last 12+ years. We will miss having Mitchell's sweet spirit in our home but know that the memories created throughout his life will in some small measure provide comfort as we go forward in faith.
Mitchell is survived by his parents, John and Jacqueline; siblings, Courtnee, Chase, Lyndsee, and Nicholas; grandparents, Chris and Betty Love of Sandy, Christine Fox of Sandy, Patricia Armstrong of South Jordan and great grandfather, Garth Stephenson of Pleasant Grove. He is preceded in death by his grandfather's Earl Armstrong and James Fox.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Crescent Ridge 4th Ward Building at 1265 East 11000 South in Sandy. A visitation will be held this Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy. The family will also receive friends at the Ward Building from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Jordan Valley School, 7501 S 1000 E, Midvale, UT, 84047.
