Obituary
Elmer passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2014. He was born in Hunter, Utah to Willard J and Alice Warr Jones on July 25, 1919. Graduated from Cyprus High School and attended Utah State University. He served his country in the Armed Forces. Married Vilate Eastwood February 29, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Elmer served in many church callings, including a mission with his eternal companion to the Hartford, Connecticut Mission, and as a Salt Lake Temple worker. He was a member of the Mormon Battalion and served as National Battalion Commander for 4 years. This was his passion.
He is survived by his wife Vilate, 4 children, Richard (Claudia) Jones, Linda (Jerry) Miller, Brent (Rhonda) Jones and Annette (Morrie) Dunham. 15 grandchildren, 41 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 18th at 12:00 noon at the Foothill 3rd Ward, 1933 South 2100 East, SLC, UT. Friends may visit from 10:00 ‚ 11:30 prior to the funeral, and Monday, 6:30 ‚ 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South. Burial at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 South Highland Dr.
