Today we celebrate the life of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Carrol Adel Staten. She was preceded in death by the great love of her life, Delbert LeRoy Staten, who died March 3rd. We console ourselves with the knowledge that now their true love story will continue in Heaven.
She was born on October 5th, 1935, the 3rd child of six born to Foster Bert Gordon and Alice Pugh. She married her best friend, Delbert Staten, September 9, 1950; which was solemnized in the SL temple on September 9, 1959.
Carrol is survived by her 6 children; Larry, Randy (Sheri), Debra Hampton (Richard), Ron (Barbara), Wendy Gerrard (Dale) and Ryan (Chris), as well as her siblings: Donna, Judy, Lynn and Wesley.
Carrol is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and two sisters: Joanne Ragsdale and Sarah Byron.
Carrol loved traveling with her husband and family. She loved anywhere warm and was always up for a trip to Disneyland. She also traveled all over the western United States, to Hawaii, and to Europe. When she was between trips she filled her life with family and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. She exemplified everything a mother should be and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 14th at Larkin Sunset Gardens mortuary. (1950 E 10600 S. Sandy, Utah) The family will receive friends and family for a viewing held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with the funeral services to follow beginning at 11:00 a.m.
