Terry Donald Bird

1947 ~ 2015

Our beloved Terry D. Bird passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, March 20th after a 10 year battle resulting from complications of a stroke.

Terry was a New Years baby born January 1st, 1947 to Donald and Dorothy Bird. He grew up in Rochester, Minnesota, graduating from John Marshall High School. Terry then attended Brigham Young University, later leaving college to serve an LDS mission in the North British area of York. Upon his return, he married Paula Fairbanks Bird and settled in Ventura, CA. Together they had five children, Jodi, Dallin, Jason, Ruth and Trisha. At this time he was the Assistant Branch Manager of Ford Motor Credit. Terry later returned to Utah to work as Sales Manager at TSI Marketing. Terry then married Samantha Bird and gained a step-son Jon. Together they had a baby girl, Jenna, that passed away in infancy.

In 1993, Terry proudly opened Strategic Alliance Marketing in Draper and owned it until his stroke in 2005. He was a master salesman, a generous employer and treated his employees like family. Some of his favorite things were to spend time at his cabin in Heber, his various Mercedes vehicles, Rolex watches, slot machines, his dogs and his grandkids. He was known to entertain his grandkids by speaking like Donald Duck, earning him the nickname \"Grandpa Duck.\"

Terry is survived by his wife Samantha, his brothers John Bird and David Bird, his sisters Holly Tanner and Jacque Clemens, his children Jodi Kinslow, Dallin Bird, Jason Bird, Ruth Bird and Trisha Jacobs and his step-son Jon Alviani. Preceeded in death by his daughter Jenna. He is survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held onFriday, March 27that the Crescent Ridge 3rd Ward Chapel located at 10975 S. Prescott Dr. (1640 E.) in Sandy. Viewing from9:30 to 10:30 amwith funeral starting at11:00 am. Graveside following at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
