Jack Curtis Middleton

1937 ~ 2016

Jack Curtis Middleton passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of June 19, 2016surrounded by family and friends. Jack was born on June 15, 1937 in Forsyth, Missouri to Mabel and Cecil Middleton. After serving in the military from 1960 to 1966, he led a distinguished career in the food processing industry developing and selling equipment all around the world.

Jack married Susan Bartlett on December 22, 1960. They moved from Kansas City, Missouri to Sandy, Utah in 1975. They have spent the last 54 years travelling the world with a passion for developing treasured friendships with people from all walks of life. Their home was always open to welcome guests from countries as diverse as Italy, China, Nigeria, Tonga, Israel, Iran, France, and many others.

Jack is survived by his wife Susan, two children Tracie Glass (Stephen), and Jeff Middleton (Jenny). They have 7 grandchildren Melodi Brown, Jenifer Jacobsen (Louis), Weston Gillespie (Nicole), Kortnee Heise (Julio), McKenzie Stevens, Scott Glass, and Nicole Glass. They are also blessed with 6 great-grandchildren. Jack is also survived by his two brothers Joe Middleton, and Ron Middleton (Linda) and his sister-in-law Barbara Zink (Roger). Special consideration goes to Tom Abbott and the members of Cottonwood Presbyterian Church as well as to the wonderful staff at Legacy Home Hospice Services. We will always be grateful for the loving compassion shown by Colleen Jenkins, Ashlie Soto, January Sadler, and Darryl Thaxton.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 24 from 6:00 ‚ 8:00 pm. Friends and family are also invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, June 25, at 11:00 am. Following the interment, a light buffet lunch will be served. All services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
