Beulah Hardwick Jones

1911 ~ 2015

Beulah Hardwick Jones passed away December 19, 2015, at the age of 104. She was born to George and Emiline Larsen Hardwick on August 26, 1911 in Lewisville, Idaho. Mom was the eighth child of ten children born in her family. Her mother and father died when she was very young, and the 10th child, Nellie Hope, died not long after birth. She married Charles Caleb Jones July 22, 1933 in Ogden, Utah.

Mom was an active member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed being a Mother, Grandmother, Homemaker, Cub Scout leader, and served as a Visiting Teacher for 50 years. During World War II, Mom worked at the Arms' Plant here in Salt Lake City. She was a Nanny for several families in the valley. Always the care giver, she worked for Salt Lake County Aging Services for 10 years, where she helped many people much younger than herself. Mother also belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for 20 years. Her camp was in the Temple View Stake. She loved to make baby blankets and crocheted the finished edge. She also loved to dance and had a contagious smile. Most of all she loved her family and friends.

Survived by her daughter, Maxine (Ray) Gunn; son, Sidney (Darlene) Jones; daughter-in-law, Joan Jones; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jones; son, Benjamin Jones and two grandsons, Ronald and Mathew Jones.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 12:00 Noon, at the Cannon 5th Ward, 1250 West 1400 South, SLC, Utah, where friends and family may visit from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow services at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue and ‘N' Street.
