Sally May Johnson

1937 ~ 2019

Sally May Johnson beloved wife, mother, sister, friend and grandmother passed away on September 26, 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Sally was born in Salt Lake City to Frank Sholes Withers and Wyona Heppler on March 6, 1937. She married the love of her life, Joseph Ezra Johnson on April 25, 1975. As happy additions of their union, she became the mother of Sharon and Kirt Johnson. On February 23, 2016, Joseph and Sally were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for all eternity.

Sally graduated from Olympus High School in 1955. At the age of 21, she went on to serve her mission in Palo Alto, California from March 20,1961 to September 25,1962. She worked and retired from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations. Sally loved traveling, camping, and rock hunting in Montana and Arizona with her husband. She enjoyed reading and crocheting to relax.

Sally went on daily lunch dates to Lofty's with her sisters Suzann and Pauline. The ladies enjoyed the close family and bonds of friendship that were created there. Sally loved to shop with her daughter Sharon and granddaughter Monica. She enjoyed teaching her grandson Gilbert and granddaughter Angela how to play cards and dice, and she especially loved spending time with all 5 of her great-grandchildren.

Sally is survived by her sister Suzann Withers, her daughter Sharon Johnson, son Joseph Kirt Johnson, her grandchildren Gilbert Salazar (Tara), Monica Salazar and Angela Salazar; and her 5 great-grandchildren Preslie, Carter, Aurora, Cruz, and Grayson.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Ezra Johnson, her mother and father,

Wyona Heppler Withers and Frank Sholes Withers, and her brother Frank Withers.

A Graveside service will be held in Sally's honor at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 500 South, on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 12 PM. A visitation will be held a day prior to services at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 6-8 pm.
