Glenn Russell Childs, 71, passed away at his home June 6, 2018 surrounded by his family after an eight-year struggle with prostate cancer. Russ attended Granite High School from 1962-65. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1965-71. He fought in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive, 1968. Russ was a purple heart recipient.
He married Rolleene Childs and with her had Raylynn Campbell, Russell Childs (Jonel), and Reggie Childs (Mandy), they later divorced. He then married Karma Childs, stepchildren; Ty Pierce, Tracy Pierce, Tiffany Ellingson (Kyle), and Tearle Holbrook.
Russ was a salesman, general contractor, truck driver, hunter, cowboy, bareback bull rider, roper, lover of John Wayne, and grandfather extraordinaire. He is survived by his mother, wife, children, 21 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Services will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary of Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton, Utah. Friends and family may call Sunday, June 10 from 6-8 p.m. and Monday, June 11 from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah.
